Surviving and The Big Clean!

I woke this morning feeling very relieved that I did not spend the evening hugging the toilet. I was also pleasantly surprised that Jasper hadn't woken me up either. We had both survived the night - whoop whoop - we live to fight another day!

On another good note, everyone was feeling a lot better and were doing their usual demanding food morning ritual - feed me! feed me! feed me! I'm not going to complain though, it's better than vomiting down me.

I have, on the other hand, turned into a fire-breathing dragon screaming, "wash your hands" every five minutes in order to stop the spread, I can't help but think I should be more on top of it when we are not sick though to save us getting in this mess in the first place.

With the cupboards bare we decided to go out early and get the shop done. Don't worry, I'm aware of the 48-hour avoiding other life forms advice. In order to not infect others I went in alone, whilst the previously sick ones sat in the car with their tablets (don't judge me, I know it's bad parenting!). I was desperate, and anyone with children will know what horrendous Gremlins they turn into when they are not fed. So, going a week without food was not an option! I'm not sure if anyone is like me, but after the sea of sick I always like to have a deep clean. I refuse to go down without a fight! Move over Coronavirus, for now it's all about defeating the Sickness and Diarrhoea bug in this house!

So, my choice of store was Home Bargains. Going down the cleaning aisle makes me very happy because I'm a bit of a bleach fan. The smell makes me feel like all the bad germs are being burnt to a crisp - so down with those bloody things I say!

I'm going full-on-warfare in the fight against the dreaded sickness bug. I obviously had to buy some more Zoflora too. Don't tell my husband, he thinks I may be a little addicted to it (what he doesn't know, won't hurt him, plus I need to win this battle).

I have a confession to make: I currently have six on the go. I just can't get enough of the Cinnamon one - even in March. Who doesn't like holding onto the warm smells of Christmas. No germs will be left behind! With that not being enough, I also raided the anti-bacterial items, too. I'm literally not leaving anything to chance. If I get this it's not for the lack of trying.

Hands up, who else loves the Dettol sprays? Door handles, stair rails, toilets or sofas. There is literally nowhere you can't use this stuff.

Tomorrow we're back on the school run, and after everyone reading this (sometimes I'm too honest) there will be lots of shuffling to the sides and avoiding me for the week. Fortunately, I won't take offence, because I would be doing the same it's one of those illness no one EVER wants to get! It only seems to turn up when you have plans - well, it does in the Smart household anyway!

Our battle may not be over, but for now we have won another day of good health. We can enjoy a nice Sunday tucked up on the sofa together not doing a lot...

CORRECTION: doing last minute BLOODY HOMEWORK, sprung on me ARRRRRRR! My life may not be perfect but I wouldn't have it any other way. Well, most of the time...
